We offer a drop-in service and telephone advice for people within postal areas S8 and S17. For specialist advice or for some lengthy interviews an appointment can be made. We also arrange home visits for the housebound (older people or people with disabilities) within our area. We regret that we are unable to offer an email advice service.

We also offer outreach sessions at Lowedges, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe. Our Families Outreach Worker works specifically with families with young children in these areas, providing home visits where necessary.

In addition to our generalist advice sessions we hold weekly outreach sessions at the Haematology and Oncology Department of Sheffield Children's Hospital, twice weekly outreach sessions at the Cancer Information & Support Centre at Weston Park and at Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Unit at Northern General Hospital, giving welfare benefits advice to families and carers of patients receiving care in the departments.

We also host an information service for people within the S8 and S17 areas who are considering divorce or separation. This service is in conjunction with South Yorkshire Family Mediation and is available on alternate Tuesdays, by appointment.

The Advice Centre is grant-aided by Sheffield City Council but is run by an independent management committee. We are a member of Advice UK (formerly the Federation of Independent Advice Centres, FIAC) and have obtained the Quality Mark of the Community Legal Service.

We are grateful to all of our sponsors
